New Single: "I Wonder" by Shamir

Motivational Muses Review | by Christian Browne

Released on: July 16, 2020

"I Wonder" the hauntingly beautiful new single from Shamir perfectly captures the essence of indie rock. This song and music video remind me of Rocky Horror Picture Show and I loved every second of it!

The two things that quickly jumps out to me is the guitar playing and vocals from Shamir. The guitar sets the tone of the song and gives it a dark, shallowing edge that cuts through with a powerful impact. Shamir's vocals are vibrant, loud, and thought-provoking. He maintains a high tone with perfect control as he shifts from one range to the next.

The music video is simple yet perfectly fits the theme of the song. Shamir filmed and edited the video in a way that feels like a nod to Little Richard and 1950’s African American rock music videos. It’s shot in black and white, starting off with him all alone before two more reflections of himself appear on screen. For me, these three Shamirs showcase different personalities that he has experienced while falling in love. It allows viewers to see the multiple points of view and styles that Shamir fights while he works to figure out who he is as a person while in a nightmare himself.

As soon as concerts are back up and running, I am buying a ticket to see Shamir live and going to enjoy seeing this amazing performer life. Shamir is truly one of a kinda and a pure music storyteller in every sense of imagination. The emotions and pure creative freedom that Shamir has is perfectly seen throughout the lyrics and visuals of this song. I can’t wait to see what he comes out with next!

Give "I Wonder" a listen today on all music streaming platforms and follow Shamir on all social media to stay updated on all future projects.
